Texas Strong - Support for Victims of Hurricane Harvey

In times of natural disasters, radio is essential to communicate with affected communities by providing news and vital information on everything from evacuation routes to food banks and medical care. During Hurricane Harvey and the present aftermath, radio’s role is as important as ever.

In addition to our south Texas radio stations providing lifesaving information to affected communities daily, iHeartRadio has produced Texas Strong - Support for Victims of Hurricane Harvey, a long form public affairs show to inform other parts of the country and provide avenues for listeners to help. Hosted by iHeartRadio’s nationally syndicated personalities Elvis Duran and Enrique Santos, the program looks not only at what is ahead for those in the affected region, but also how the rest of the country can come together and show support during this critical time. Our hosts join reporters from the region to speak with flood victims, first-responders, and politicians about the historic storm and massive recovery effort. The 30-minute program is available in both English and Spanish (Spanish version here), and will broadcast across the majority of iHeartRadio stations this weekend. It is also available for communities to listen on demand via iHeartRadio here.

Radio is integral to our communities and serves as the rallying point for many listeners affected by natural disasters. iHeartMedia will continue to work alongside its neighbors in Corpus Christi, Houston, Austin and nearby areas while supporting the recovery via our broadcast radio, digital and billboard platforms.

And even if you can't head down to Texas, there are many ways you can help by donating or sending much needed supplies to the region. For information on how you can assist in these recovery efforts, visit the official website for the American Red Cross, or text the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
