#NewMusicTuesday: “Fast Car (Tracy Chapman Cover),” Justin Bieber

It almost goes without saying that Justin Bieber is one of the world’s biggest recording artists. His 2015 album Purpose was a miraculous return to form, with chart-topping singles like “What Do You Mean?,” “Sorry,” and “Love Yourself,” dominating the airwaves throughout 2016.

At the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour in December, Justin Bieber unsurprisingly owned the stage— playing hit after hit and getting the packed crowds in Los Angeles and New York up on their feet. But when the arena lights dimmed, and Justin pulled out his acoustic guitar, fans knew that they were in for a very special treat. Opening with that distinct acoustic riff, Bieber cruised through a breezy, seemingly effortless rendition of Tracy Chapman’s classic song “Fast Car.” By the time Bieber hit the iconic chorus, it was clear that this was a truly unique cover by one of the most talented and versatile artists in pop music - and we have it for you here!

Furthering his all-around success coming out of 2016, Justin Bieber is nominated for Male Artist of the Year. And for his guest appearance on the Major Lazer track “Cold Water,” Bieber is subsequently nominated for Dance Song of the year at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards! Remember to grab your tickets to the awards show now, or tune into TBS, TNT, and truTV at 8pm ET/5pm PT on Sunday, March 5 to catch all of the action live. In the meantime, you can listen to all of your favorite Justin Bieber tracks on demand, right here, on iHeartRadio!
