#NewMusicTuesday: Lauren Alaina

You may recall this breakout Country music star from her days on Season 10 of American Idol or that time when the American Country Awards crowned her New Artist of the Year in 2012, or maybe as a ten-year-old winning the famed American Model and Talent Competition in Orlando. Either way, Lauren Alaina is back with a powerful new sound and a self-titled album to boot.

Her latest single to make waves off of Lauren Alaina is all about positivity and female empowerment. "The Road Less Traveled” hints at the famed poem by Robert Frost, “The Road Not Taken,” in which the narrator sees a fork in the road and decides to take the less traveled path. The single exudes a new kind of soulful country vibe we’re really digging.

Carefree as it may sound, this single didn’t happen overnight. In fact, in the midst of recording vocals for the soon-to-be hit, Alaina underwent vocal surgery. However, that didn’t stop the powerhouse singer, who returned to the studio with an even greater range and mastery of sound.

Lauren’s latest album, Lauren Alaina, was released on October 2, 2015 and includes other hits such as “Next Boyfriend,” and “History.” We’re so excited to see the woman she has grown into – building on the best of her sixteen-year-old self and staying true to the confident and impassioned singer and songwriter she is becoming. We can’t wait to see what’s in store next for this bright star.
