Podcast Spotlight: Looking for a New Show to Listen To? Here’s What’s New in Podcasts This Week!

With so many podcasts being made today, it’s hard to keep up. Luckily, with the help of iHeartRadio’s Podcast Spotlight, you can find something new to listen to every week. Here’s the latest on iHeartRadio podcasts, seasons and episodes:

We’ve got a brand new podcast coming to iHeartRadio this week called “The Missionary.” It tells the story of Renee Bach, a young missionary who left her life in America to start a malnutrition program in rural Uganda. Initially, Bach was praised for her work. Religious communities called her a “model missionary” and used her efforts as an example of the healing power of God’s message. This heroic reputation, however, was eventually obscured by one simple and deadly truth: Renee Bach had no medical training. In fact, it is believed that she has killed hundreds of children and currently has several lawsuits filed against her. Hosted and reported by journalists Rajiv Golla, Halima Gikandi and Malcolm Burnley, “The Missionary” dives into Bach’s story to figure how this happened and whether or not it was a case of good intentions gone wrong—or something much more sadistic. This podcast was created with support from The Fuller Project, a leading global nonprofit newsroom dedicated to groundbreaking reporting on women. Head over to iHeartRadio this Friday, May 15th, to hear the show’s first episode!

This week, listeners can also check out “The No-Sports Report.” Produced by TreeFort Media,  this show features “fireside” chats with athletes, coaches, commentators and legends from the sports world who—just like their fans—are desperately missing the games they love right now. “The No-Sports Report” is hosted by comedian, writer and producer Jensen Karp, and it’s the perfect outlet for fans who are without athletic events to attend and games to watch due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The show features interviews with numerous sports legends, including Sugar Ray Leonard, Adam Rippon, Gavin Lux and Jay Williams. Full episodes are now available on iHeartRadio, so go check them out!

And last, but not least, we’ve got a new show for all the true crime fans out there: “Dear Governor” examines the story of Jarvis Jay Masters, a death row inmate at the San Quentin State Prison. Masters, a renowned Buddhist author, has steadfastly maintained his innocence since he was sentenced almost 30 years ago. And despite the many incongruities of Masters's case, allegations of suppression of information, witness recantations and destruction of evidence, he remains in jail. Hosted by Emmy award-winning producer Corny Koehl, this podcast will share compelling new evidence that bolsters Masters’s claims of innocence. Full episodes of “Dear Governor” are now available on iHeartRadio with new episodes arriving every Tuesday.

Check back next week for new podcasts, seasons and episodes that you won’t want to miss!
