#NewMusicTuesday: Rebecca Black, RE / BL

Don’t call her a one hit wonder yet – Rebecca Black is here with her first ever E.P.! Famous for her catchy song “Friday,” the YouTube sensation hopes to show fans a different side with this collection of tunes and we’re pumped!

Back in 2011, the young Californian’s “Friday” became YouTube’s most watched video of the year. Whether they loved it or hated it, listeners across the country just couldn’t get enough. The song spent six weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 list, peaking at No. 58. In 2013, Rebecca Black released a sequel to “Friday,” cleverly titled “Saturday” with another YouTube star, Dave Days.

After a bit of a hiatus, Rebecca Black released her E.P. RE / BL in September. The artist co-wrote all six songs, and believes they’re a representation of who she is right now, which is far different from the “Friday” star most of us know! In the hit “Heart Full of Scars,” Rebecca hopes young fans hear the message she wishes she heard back in 2011 – life isn’t perfect, and that’s ok!
