Artist of the Week: Macklemore

We already knew Macklemore loved to hit up a “Thrift Shop” or two. Now if his new song “Good Old Days” is any indication, he also remembers a time when he was eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the back of a 12 passenger van — and is nostalgic about it!

Though Macklemore started out as a solo artist, he rose to fame alongside friend and former photographer Ryan Lewis, when their single “Thrift Shop” reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 list back in 2013.

Since then, Macklemore has gone solo once again. In September 2017, he released his second solo studio album, Gemini, including singles “Glorious” and “Marmalade” - along with “Good Old Days” featuring Kesha, who also just released her long-awaited album, Rainbow. After some time away from the stage, both Macklemore and Kesha are back on top and better than ever! The duo performed together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, and they’re heading out on a joint summer tour: The Adventures of Kesha and Macklemore.

Hear Macklemore talk about his family life and reminisce about actually eating PB&J sandwiches for dinner in the clip while playing with adorable puppies! And keep listening to his new album on iHeartRadio!
